Born in Port Hedland, Raylene is a Kariyarra-Yindjibarndi-Ngarluma-Palyku woman from the Mampulunya-Kurlarnunya-Tjinapi-Jarlingarli clan and Purungu/Karimarra skin group. Raylene is the founder and director of Mampulunya Kariyarra.
Raylene regularly delivers cultural awareness training, on-country tours, and cultural advice and consulting to clients across WA. This includes FMG, BHP, Downer Group, Town of Port Hedland and state government departments.
Raylene is well-regarded for her skill in understanding the Native Title process and how to support her community to achieve outcomes that are helping to provide a sustainable benefit for the generations to come. She played a key role in establishing the Kariyarra Youth Education Program, which teaches young people leadership skills, land management techniques, and cultural/heritage knowledge. Raylene previously served on the Pilbara Solar board, in which she supported this new business by providing local knowledge and cultural insight.
Committed to ongoing professional education, Raylene is currently studying to complete a Certificate IV in Business Governance through ORIC.
